When the Cheesecake Factory came to Toronto, the buildout demanded a level of creativity and efficiency well beyond standard. Twilight delivered double the custom brand elements in half the time.




Visit any Cheesecake Factory and two things will jump out: the vast menu and the unique décor. So when the Yorkdale Shopping Centre brought the first Cheesecake Factory to Toronto, it needed a partner with the ability to design, plan and build an unorthodox collection of signage and architectural elements under one umbrella. Located front and center by the main mall entrance, this was a buildout with no margin for error.




Cheesecake’s design is like nothing else, with most items highly custom in materials, sign types and lighting effects – all while maintaining a level of quality that mirrors the brand’s high-end reputation. We implemented new methods for producing custom sizes without the use of costly molds, resulting in a stunning end product delivered with 25% cost savings.





With the project schedule condensed to half the normal time, we coordinated two shifts – installing signage at night so the general contractor could build by day. As a result, the typical construction hurdles didn’t slow us down, and the restaurant opened on time and on budget. In the end, we were invited to the exclusive pre-opening dinner reserved for friends and family. Cheers.


With a retro high-end look, the typical interior signage spec was a vacuum-formed, acrylic embossed letter with applied gold/copper leaf.


We proposed a re-engineered high density foam, CNC-machined and hard-carved to its final form.


Square decorative features were redesigned with crushed-glass faces, with edge-lit LED to enhance the night look.


The branding included modern design elements, with architectural features that were far from standard.
